Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be staying if there is a change in the way the club is being run; like working in tandem with club director, according to reports.
The 67-year old’s future at the club is still unknown as he is set to run out of contract at the end of the season. The Frenchman has been associated with the club since 1996 and has helped them to become one of the best clubs in entire Europe during his 21-year old reign.
However, the Gunners are close to missing out on Champions League place for the first time under Arsene Wenger and there have been speculations that he might be moving away from the club at the end of the season.
Arsenal is set to face Everton in the final Premier League game at Emirates and any slip-up by Manchester City or Liverpool could help them achieve top four finish. The Gunners have also managed to reach FA Cup final and will face their bitter rivals Chelsea next week at the iconic Wembley stadium.
According to Daily Mirror, Wenger is ready to work at the club for at least one more season if there are changes in the club as he reckons there need to be changed in working conditions to turn the poor results this season next year.
Speaking about working together with the director, Wenger said: ‘I am always open to things that improve the quality and the future of the club.
‘Apart from that, after that, you have to see if it’s really efficient because the titles do not always make you better.
‘Director of football, when I say that, is a guy who decides the decisions that are normally are down to the manager. That means selection of players, buying and all matters that concern the functioning of the team on a daily basis.
‘Of course, we can need help to become better. I am always open to open that.’
Arsene Wenger managed to win three Premier League titles and 6 FA Cups during his reign but has failed to deliver a Premier League title to the club in the past 13 years.
However, the club is finding it difficult to replace him with a potential successor as they are keen to make the decision in a more constructive way. They fear the club could be impacted heavily if the Frenchman leaves this summer and could offer him a new deal.
