India’s telecom giants Aircel has signed a three year title sponsorship deal with ISL franchise Atletico de Kolkata. The sponsorship amount has not been revealed yet but it is understood that the deal will be signed on Monday where the club representatives and the Chief Marketing Officer of Aircel will be present to sign the dotted lines.
Atletico de Kolkata, the team led by a collabaration of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and Spanish Champions Atletico Madrid will be captained by Spanish midfielder Luis Garcia. Atletico de Kolkata players are undergoing pre-season in Spain and the players were unveiled at Atletico MAdrid’s home ground Vincente Calderon during their half-time of their La Liga game against Celta Vigo.
With this deal, Atletico de Kolkata will become the first ISL team to sign a title sponsors. Aircel is also the title sponsors of IPL giants Chennai Super Kings. The ISL kicks off on 12th October at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata.
