Atletico Madrid are planning to sign Chelsea striker Diego Costa this summer and loaned him out to Turkish club Besiktas on a six-month loan deal, according to reports.
Costa’s Rift With Antonio Conte
Diego Costa is one of the key players to help Antonio Conte win Premier League in his debut season. The Spaniard was the most important player for the Blues during the first half of the season.
However, the initial problem arose during the winter break when Costa was linked with a move to Chinese Super League. The duo had overcome the differences to help the club win the league and qualify for Champions League.
But the 28-year old revealed the text message from Conte in which the Italian manager made it clear that Costa is no longer in his plans for next season.
Very Few Options For Costa
The Blues are ready to sell Costa but there are very few options that Diego Costa is interested in. The Spanish international is not willing to make a move to Chinese Super League especially considering the World Cup next summer.
He has expressed his desire to make a return to his home club Atletico Madrid but the transfer ban on the club has put the transfer in complication. But the Spanish side are ready to make a swoop for Costa, according to Spanish media outlet AS.
Los Rojiblancos are planning a deal with Besiktas that will help Diego Costa play on loan in Turkey for six months before moving back to Atletico in January. Atletico’s transfer ban meant that they cannot play any of the summer signings for next season.
Barcelona had also served a similar ban in 2015 when they faced a ban for a year. However, they went ahead and signed Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan and left him out of the squad for the first six months before playing him in the team once the ban was over.
Chelsea are yet to find a potential replacement for Diego Costa so far after losing Lukaku to Manchester United last summer. It is a tough job to be in Conte’s shoes at the moment as Blues are enduring a frustrating transfer window.
