French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko gave Chelsea fans a little shocker by teasing with a Manchester United transfer ahead of his £40 million move to Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year old is expected to undergo a medical very soon and will be completing his move to join Premier League champions for next season. However, Chelsea had faced some stiff competition from their league rivals Manchester United before sealing the move.
Earlier reports also claimed that Jose Mourinho could once again get another Chelsea target after managing to sign Romelu Lukaku last week from Everton in a record deal.
The Monaco midfielder has played a game with Chelsea fans with a good morning message on Twitter adding his location as Manchester, England which brought a bit of fear for Blues supporters.
But the Frenchman did not stop there he went one step ahead and posted emojis using Manchester United’s white and red colors.
However, the midfielder had dropped a hint on Instagram earlier in the day with him leaving a hotel from London which reassured the Blues’ fans that he would be moving to Stamford Bridge instead of Old Trafford in the coming few days.
The 22-year old was considered as a top priority for Antonio Conte since the start of summer but the interest from Red Devils have forced Chelsea to make a quick move to sign the midfielder.
Bakayoko was one of the key midfielders for Monaco in their title triumph last season and is one of the most sought after footballers in the ongoing transfer window. He is set to become the third signing for Chelsea this summer after the Blues managed to sign Antonio Rudiger in a 34 million pound deal from AS Roma last Sunday and Willy Cabellero as a free agent.
The Monaco midfielder is expected to partner N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s midfield and is considered as a replacement for Manchester United bound- Nemanja Matic. He is a player with high potential and he will need to perform well in the pressure of playing in Premier League.
Chelsea are also hoping to finish the deals for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro and Real Madrid right-back Danilo as they continue to improve their squad for next season.
