Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez could be on a move from Camp Nou this summer after a difficult season with the European giants.

But the board are keen to make him stay for one more season with the club as they are ready to offer him more opportunities next season, according to reports in Spain.

The 23-year old was bought back by Barcelona after letting him leave to Sevilla in the summer of 2014 on a loan deal before the player moving on a permanent deal to Villarreal in the following summer. He returned back to the club last summer but has failed to make an impact under Luis Enrique.

The departing manager has given him only 12 starts in the entire campaign as he managed a mere 1788 minutes of playing time this season. He has been drawing interest from numerous clubs across Europe which include Valencia, Arsenal, Tottenham, Napoli and Roma.

Spanish media outlet Marca claims that the board are not keen to let the player leave in the summer as they are keen to see if he fits in the new manager’s plans with Luis Enrique leaving the club at the end of the season.

The report also suggests that the club is cautious as they fear too many exits could hamper club’s progress next season. The likes of Arda Turan and Rafinha Alcantara are expected to leave Barca in the summer due to lack of playing time.

The club has also reportedly asked the midfielder to stay and have promised him proper game time to establish time next season under the new manager. Ernesto Valverde is considered favorite to sign as the new boss at the club.

Barcelona is also expected to make some big moves in the summer as they are considering a revamp to their midfield and defence for the coming season. Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho is one of the major targets for Barcelona in the summer and they have also shown interest in signing PSG’s Marco Verratti.

The club are set to compete only for cup later this month as Real Madrid are on the verge of winning their first La Liga title in five years after winning comfortably against Celta Vigo last night.
