According to The Sun, Turkish giants Besiktas are chasing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho. The 26-year old is expected to leave Liverpool before the end of the current transfer window.
The 26-year old was sent home from their preseason tour in the United States by manager Jurgen Klopp. The incident happened as Klopp admitted that the player is lacking discipline as he often breaks club’s rules. There has been reports that Sakho had fallen out with Klopp which led to a host of clubs expressing their interest in signing the young defender.
Liverpool who were not happy with the player’s discipline meant his future at the club remains unclear despite his major role in their proceedings last season.
Sakho has featured for the Reds 33 times but Besiktas believes that they can strike a deal with Liverpool over a potential move this summer.
The former PSG defender had suffered an Achilles injury earlier which meant he was sidelined for the last three weeks and is trying to get back to fitness. Sakho has been linked with AS Roma as well as Galatasaray earlier but Besiktas are very interested in signing the French international.
Liverpool wants to recoup most of the £18m they paid to Paris Saint-Germain in signing Sakho in 2013.
