German giants Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign key Arsenal and Chelsea target Stephan Lichtsteiner who is keen to leave Turin this summer, according to the reports.
The 32-year old is one of the best defenders in Italy but the arrival of Dani Alves from Barcelona on a free transfer meant the Swiss international needs to play second fiddle to the Brazilian.
Lichtsteiner is reportedly unhappy with his situation at the club and is keen to leave Turin before the end of the transfer window in search of first team football. Both the London clubs were long linked with the player but the transfer could happen in the next few days.
However, according to Premium Sport, German club Borussia Dortmund have confirmed their interest in the 82-cap Swiss international.
The Swiss international has established himself into one of the finest right-backs in entire Europe over the last five years at Turin and is currently into the last year on his contract.
According to Gazello Dello Sport, Juventus are keen to cash in on the veteran full-back this summer than to let him go for free next summer. The 32-player could be available for a cut-price deal which will tempt both Arsenal and Chelsea to make a move for the proven defender.
Arsenal and Chelsea are keen to sign an experienced defender before the transfer window closes as both the clubs lack a leader in their defense as Per Mertesacker is injured for Gunners whereas Terry can’t be used in every game for Chelsea as the player is at the fag end of his career.
However, the interest of Borussia Dortmund meant they have to fight with the German outfit to get the star Juventus defender.
