Manchester United goal-keeper David De Gea has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid during the time-off given to him by the manager Louis Van Gaal.
The manager had given every player an extra day off before the penultimate round of matches in the Premier League. Speculations of De Gea joining Real Madrid were at all-time high when he was pictured taking a private jet to Madrid.
It has been reported that De Gea has crosses Van Gaal by using the time off as the means to agree personal terms with Real Madrid. Van Gaal was confident that the keeper would sign his news £200,000-a-week contract with the club which would have kept him at the club till 2020.
Following this snub, Van Gaal was quick to make De Gea realize that he is just a part of the team and is not bigger than the club, Van Gaal in his pre-match conference said that United are prepared for a life after the Spaniard.
Van Gaal said: “We have a list of goalkeepers who can replace him because we have to be organised also.
“We want him [De Gea] to stay, so hopefully he shall sign. I don’t know if we can offer him everything Real can, because I cannot speak for Real Madrid.
“We have three parties here and most important party is always the player. We want him to sign but he has to sign, and he has to want to stay here at Manchester United.
“I don’t know why he has not made the decision. I cannot say what he is saying to me.”
