Chelsea are keen to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro as they ready a massive £60 million for his deal, according to reports.
The Blues are in the market to strengthen their squad in almost every position. Antonio Conte wants more quality and depth in his squad as Chelsea are set to return to Champions League next season and will be needing top quality to compete for European title.
The Brazilian left back Alex Sandro has emerged as one of the primary targets for Conte this summer. He had played arguably the best season in his career in the last 12 months and is reportedly willing to make a move away from Turin.
He is arguably one of the top three left backs in the world alongside Marcelo and David Alaba. His addition to the squad would be a huge boost for Chelsea’s defense next season as he is equally good in attack as well as defense.
Sandro made an impressive 43 appearances for Juventus last season and managed 3 goals and 7 assists. He moved to Juventus only couple of seasons ago from Benfica in a £22m deal.
Chelsea have already made an initial offer of £52m which was rejected by Juventus and the Blues are ready to tempt Juventus with a new £60m offer to sign him before the end of the summer window. Sandro still has three years left in his contract and Juve are desperate to keep him for next season.
Should the Blues sign him, Alex Sandro will become the record signing in the club’s history. Chelsea’s record signing was Fernando Torres when they managed to sign him from rivals Liverpool for £50m in 2011.
The club are also keen to make numerous additions to their squad and are linked with several top class players in the recent days. Everton’s Romelu Lukaku is also one of the top targets but Chelsea will need to fork out a massive £80 million to sign him.
AS Monaco’s Bakayoko is another top class midfielder that is linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as it has been a frustrating season for Conte so far.
