Chelsea are lining up for another raid on Atletico Madrid in January transfer window for their 23-year-old Spanish midfielder Koke but will have to battle it out with Spanish giant Barcelona.
Blues Portuguese boss wants to rebuild his midfield as soon as possible to turn things around and Koke remains his top priority.
Barcelona are also eyeing Koke for the past 3-4 transfer windows but Chelsea surely have the edge as they have always tried to maintain a good relationship with the Atletico board, for which we have seen multiple player exchanges between the two clubs in recent years.
Although Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is keen to hold on to the star midfielder and repeatedly urged club president Enrique Cerezo to upgrade the player’s contract.
Koke’s transfer fee hasn’t been confirmed yet but reports claim the deal will cost Chelsea a lot, a fee of around £40 million likely to be placed to tempt Atletico into the deal.
