According to ESPN FC, Newcastle United have agreed a season long loan deal for Chelsea’s winger Christian Atsu.
Sources close to the player confirmed the deal after Newcastle manager Rafa Benetiz expressed his interest to sign the winger in an attempt to bolster his attacking options. The Championship side will also have the option to buy him at the end of the loan spell. The player has been given permission by the club to travel to Tyneside to undergo a medical.
The 24-year old who has moved to Stamford Bridge in 2013 has been on the move for the last three years as he failed to make a breakthrough into the Blues first team
He have had loan spells at Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga over the past three years and is set for another loan move to Newcastle this season.
The Blues have a rich of wingers with the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian, Pedro Juan Cuadrado and few others as the Ghanian might not even get any playing time if he stays at Stamford Bridge this season.
New manager Antonio Conte is following the Chelsea’s policy as the Blues have already loaned out more than 25 players on loan this summer and are set to loan out a few more before the end of the transfer window.
Atsu still has two years left on his contract with Chelsea after signing a five year contract in 2013. Newcastle believe the player could be a huge help in their season as the club looks to get back to Premier League next year after being relegated to championship last season.
