Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will have showdown talks with president Florentino Perez but the latter will tell the Portuguese captain that he has no other club to leave to.

According to Spanish media outlet  Diario Gol, Perez is reportedly telling his friends that Ronaldo will have to stay at Real Madrid just because there are no other clubs in the world that can trigger his release clause and accommodate his massive wages.

The fact that Ronaldo is 32 at the moment which will not help the exit clause despite being linked with a move to his former club Manchester United.

Ronaldo had been left frustrated by the club after being alleged to fraud 14,768,897 euros on image rights between 2011 and 2014 during his time with Los Blancos by the Spanish tax authorities in the recent times.

The report from Diario Gol suggested that Peres is quoted as saying: “Cristiano is angry, and I understand it.

“He is a professional, very meticulous and responsible with his obligations.

“It is normal to get angry when they try to hurt you.”

However, the president has also made clear that Ronaldo will stay at the club for the upcoming season as he has been their main man since moving to Santiago Bernabeu in 2009.

Ronaldo was in spectacular form last season as he helped Real Madrid win their third Champions League in the last four seasons. Perez is convinced that it is tough for any club to meet the release clause and also pay Ronaldo’s massive £440,000-a-week salary.

Meanwhile, the 32-year old was left further frustrated after his national team Portugal lost against Chile in the semifinals of the ongoing Confederations Cup.

The European champions lost out in the penalty shootout as they failed to put at least one into the back off the net. The failed attempts Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Nani meant that Chile won the game by 3-0 in the penalty shootout.
