Cristiano Ronaldo has his eyes on the UEFA Nations League 2019, UEFA European Championships 2020 and a last shot at the FIFA World Cup 2022

With a squad full of talented youth, Cristiano Ronaldo thinks that he can bring home the missing international accolades from his huge trophy cabinet with this team.

Portugal have the home advantage and with CR7 back in the squad they’re strong contenders to lift the first edition of UEFA Nations League.

Some breakthrough stars who recently gained limelight by their amazing performance at club level are SL Benfica’s Joao Felix, Valencia C.F’s Goncalo Guedes, Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes, Juventus’ Joao Cancelo, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves.

Cristiano Ronaldo is likely going to captain the side with this new wave of young talent. The Portuguese were without their star man Ronaldo in the group stage of the Nations League but still managed to qualify with an excellent display.

Ronaldo had an average season with Juventus as he scored 21 goals in the league and was 4th in the top scorers list which is a rare sight, although they managed to win the league pretty comfortably. He also had a poor season in Europe, scoring 6 times in the champions league and with Juve crashing out in the quarter finals against the young mighty Ajax.

Cristiano would want to have his chances for a 6th Balon d’or increase by winning the Nations League after slim chances due to a poor season at club level.

The Nations League is being held for the first time. The host is Portugal, with his utter competitive spirit Ronaldo would want his name to be in the history books by winning the first edition of UEFA Nations League.
