Cypriot’s APOEL Beat Olympiakos 2-0 In Europa League

Nicosia, Dec 9 (IANS) Cypriot champions APOEL Nicosia beat Greece’s Olympiakos 2-0 at home in a Europa League Group B fixture.

Though Olympiakos had possession of the ball for the majority of the match, it was APOEL who scored once in each half here on Thursday, reports Xinhua.

Costa Emanuel scored APOEL’s first goal in the 20th minute, with Igor de Camargo pushing in the second goal from a Nuno Morais’ cross seven minutes from time.

APOEL were the winners by 1-0 in their first encounter with Olympiakos in Piraeus.

APOEL ended on top of Group B with 12 points, followed by Olympiakos at 8.

Both APOEL and Olympiakos qualified for the next round of the Europa League.
