David Villa Gearing Up To Face Real Madrid Once Again

Former Barcelona star David Villa will be locking horns against arch rivals Real Madrid once again this summer after being selected in MLS All star squad. The two sides will play on August 2 at Chicago in the annual affair.

Every year the all star team plays against the guest team and the Spaniard was chosen by fans to take part in the game against Los Blancos this summer which also means he will have one more chance to fight against his former rivals.

The American league has been attracting some good names in the recent times as most of the elite players are moving to the United States to play their final days. The quality of the league is also improving very well as the all star team has done reasonably well in the recent years against big European clubs.

Apart from David Villa, there are quite a few big names from football that would be playing for all star team on August 02. Former Real Madrid star and Brazilian international Kaka, currently at Orlando City, would play against his former employers and former Bayern Munich and German midfielder, playing for Chicago Fire, Bastian Schweinsteiger will also be in the midfield for the game.

Italian striker Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto FC and LA Galaxy’s Giovani dos Santos could also be featuring as the match is set to be highly competitive. Real Madrid will have the opportunity to be the guest team this summer and would be an ideal way to reach more American audience as part of their club promotions.

Defenders: Greg Garza (Atlanta United), DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City), Michael Parkhurst (Atlanta United), Hernan Grana (FC Dallas), Matt Hedges (FC Dallas), Johan Kappelhof (Chicago Fire), Jelle Van Damme (LA Galaxy).

Midfielders: Bastian Schweinsteiger (Chicago Fire), Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United), Kaka (Orlando City), Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Giovani dos Santos (LA Galaxy), Dax McCarty (Chicago Fire), Ignacio Piatti (Montreal Impact), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers).

Forwards: David Villa (New York City FC), Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Nemanja Nikolic (Chicago Fire), Dom Dwyer(Sporting Kansas City).
