Del Peiro Insists Juve Has Place For Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus has once again lost the Champions League final earlier this month at the hands of Real Madrid. The Italian champions had failed to crack the juggernaut in the finals of the elite competition as they ended up on the losing side.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been the star performer for Los Blancos in the business end of last season as his incredible performances meant Real managed to win back to back Champions League titles, the first team to do so in nearly 30 years.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero insisted that it hurts to lose the finals again but has revealed that the Italian club would welcome Ronaldo at Turin if he is unhappy with Real Madrid.

The Portuguese skipper has been linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu in the recent weeks as he is reportedly unhappy with his tax evasion charges by Spanish authorities.

The 32-year old was linked with numerous big European clubs including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

“It is a damn cup,” Del Piero said, Juve having been on the losing side in their last five finals.

“We hope to win it again, and if Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy at Real Madrid and wants to go, Juventus have a lot of space for him.”

Speaking to Marca, the Juve legend has further revealed how the team managed to cope up after 2006 scandal that saw a court in Naples condemned the Turin team to Serie B. The Old Lady then managed to win promotion back to Serie A in the next season and are currently on a run of six consecutive league titles.

However, Del Piero believes that they faced many difficulties reaching the top again as players like Buffon and himself decided to stay with the club despite relegation.

“It was an opportunity to build,” he continued.

“It was an unforgettable road, with many difficulties … a complete disaster.”

Juventus are once again in the market to sign some important players as they are being the smart club in the past two years in getting proper players to strengthen their team. It remains to be seen how long it will take Juve to win the Champions League once again as they possess the ideal team to win it.
