Eden Hazard has confirmed he’ll be staying at Stamford Bridge next season and has also revealed that he is in discussions regarding a new contract.
“I am staying at Chelsea 100 per cent sure. Of course in football you never know but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there,” Hazard told Le Derniere Heure.
“And I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract. It is only the beginning of the talks right now so we have got time but the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means that they have got a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me.
“PSG never made any suggestions to me personally.”
The 23 year old is believed to be a summer target of Paris Saint Germain after boss Laurent Blanc admitted publicly he wanted to sign him.
“Why do I love Eden Hazard? Because he is a player who eliminates,” he said.”We can discuss all of the systems, or a player’s individual or collective qualities.
“But a player who can eliminate three or four players any time in a game is something else.
“We don’t know what to expect with these players. They destabilise the opponent.”
Hazard is expected to sign a new five-year deal worth about £200,000 a week that will make him one of the highest earners in the Premier League. The Belgian international joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 for a fee of £32million, has scored 30 goals in 111 appearances.
Hazard is currently preparing for Belgium‘s opening World Cup Group H clash against Algeria on Tuesday.
