The first battle of the new campaign between two of the newly promoted sides, the home side Hull City Tigers is back in the first division after spending three years in the second division and the visitors Cardiff City have gained promotion after fifty one years they played in the first division for the last time.
Both sides were impressive in their previous fixtures of the new campaign, Hull travelled to the Etihad Stadium where they recorded a competition to Manchester City, unfortunately they could not come out with any points. On the other hand, Cardiff City fought Everton in their last fixture to a goal less draw. Both teams not only look desperate to save relegation but their performances are indicating that they are trying to have a better finish. Both came out with a point each when the last time these two teams faced each other.
What to expect from this match
This match can show us the portrait of how these two teams would progress in the near fixtures. These two newly promoted sides have shown more promises than some of the other teams in the league who saved relegation last season and some who finished far from relegation. Currently, it is difficult to say who the better side is of these two as their performances are almost equal to each other. This match is one of the most vital matches of the 4th game week.
Players to watch out for
Tom Huddlestone (Hull City) : Hull City’s £5 million man all the way from Tottenham Hotspurs shocked the world after he decided to join a newly promoted side Hull. Huddlestonehas already started to prove his worth and from every move him he shows why he is an England international. He was the best man against Manchester City for Hull and we expect he could continue his great performance, maybe even better.
Bo-Kyung Kim (Cardiff City) : The South Korean international attacking third performed excellent in the last fixture against Everton and he was selected as the man of the match. He gave a great support to the attackers and he himself did a good job in forward. Hope he could perform better in near future.
Hull City : We see one change for Steve Bruce’s side as Sone Aluko who missed the best chance for Hull in the last fixture and performed below average could be replaced by Stephen Quinn, Aluko has a minor knock too . Rest of the squad could remain unchanged.
Cardiff City : We see only one possible change could be made by the Scottish boss Cardiff Malky Mackay. Steven Caulker who is out with a serious ankle injury could get replaced by Mark Hudson. They were unfortunate not to come out with all three points against Everton in the last fixture. They did a good job and they are capable of beating Hull with this lineup.
We predict a victory for the home side by a very narrow margin. But we hope to see a very tight competition. We expect to see both sides scoring goals.
Predicted score line : Hull City 2 – 1 Cardiff City
Predicted scorers : Huddlestone and Graham (Hull), Bellamy (Cardiff)
