Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed several clubs have enquired about signing him on loan from Arsenal.

But the Nigerian midfielder insists he will not be making a move to Norwegian side Viking.

Arsenal signed Nwakali from Diamond Football Academy for £3million earlier this month but he has not been granted a work permit and is set to be loaned out for first team experience.

Yesterday, Nigerian website Own Goal Nigeria claimed Viking were in talks with Arsenal over a loan move but Nwakali has hinted a move to Holand is most likely to happen.

“It is not true I am joining Viking,” Nwakali told All Nigeria Soccer.

“There are clubs in Holland who have asked about me but Viking is a lie.”

Nwakali is currently with Arsenal’s academy but he can only train with his new side as he waits for a work permit.

Arsenal confirmed when announcing his arrival that the 18-year-old would be loaned out in the near future and they could look to push through a deal before Wednesday’s transfer deadline if no permit is granted.

Nwakali’s brother and agent has also been adamant that a move to Norway is not on the cards.

“The information that he is joining Viking is fake, Kelechi is at Arsenal, training and working hard,” Allwell Nwakali said.

“If Arsenal can’t get him a work permit, he will go where we want him to go.

“How can I be approached by clubs in Holland and France and allow him to sign for Viking.”
