Barcelona, Aug 4 (IANS) French defender Lucas Digne, one of Catalan football giants’ new signings, joined Thursday’s training session earlier than scheduled as it had been planned that he would take part in next Monday’s workouts.
It had been arranged that Digne would join next Monday’s training, along with his compatriot Samuel Umtiti and Portuguese Andre Gomes after they participated with their national teams in the European championship final, reports Efe.
The French player performed physical exercises with eight teammates from the first team who did not travel to Stockholm for Wednesday’s friendly against Leicester City, which Barcelona won 4-2.
Thursday’s training was attended by Digne, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Claudio Bravo, Gerard Pique, Thomas Vermaelen, Douglas, Jordi Alba, Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta.
Barcelona will play a friendly against Liverpool in London on Saturday.
