Chelsea now know they are in for a tough time under Guus Hiddink after the Dutchman revealed that he is demanding 100% from his players or else he will kiss good bye to the club.

Hiddink also said that if the stars under pressure need to deliver on the pitch or else they will have to accept the sack from he club. Hiddink has laid down the marker for players to perform or else it is curtains for either them or the newly appointed manager.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Hiddink said: “First of all there must be a great desire to play. I say to them, If you don’t have that desire, please knock on my door and we’ll talk. We’ll talk briefly’.

“They must have the heart full of desire of an amateur. If they don’t have that desire, then I will say, ‘Thank you very much, goodbye’.”

Hiddink, sacked by Holland in June after a poor start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, insisted he still has the passion to coach.

“I spoke with the squad and, of course, we talked a bit about the past, why I’m here, the reasons why we are down,
“I told them I want everyone to look in the mirror, not just for two seconds, but longer, and see what everyone can contribute from now on to raise us up.

“I don’t want them to look back. I asked them to be hyper-critical of themselves and give their best for the team. They have to look forward.”

Hiddink, who led Chelsea to the FA Cup and the Champions League semi-finals in his first spell at the club, losing only one game out of 22, added: “I shouldn’t be here, halfway into the season. But I am. That means things are not going as well as foreseen.

“No manager can guarantee three points every week, but we have to show to ourselves, the club, the players, the fans, that the team has big desire to wash away the last half-year.”
