According to reports, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is interested to replace Louis van Gaal at Manchester United next summer.

A report from Le 10 Sport claims Mourinho could be a surprising figure at Old Trafford as the Portuguese manager is keen to in test himself in Manchester.

Defending Champion Chelsea is now enduring a terrible start to this campaign after losing six of their opening 11 Premier League games.

Earlier also, Mourinho was linked to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson when Fergi retired in 2013 but the Portuguese chose to return to his former club at Stamford Bridge. Former Everton manager David Moyes became the next boss at Old Trafford.

Under van Gaal Manchester united are now fourth in the League table 11 places ahead of Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Le 10 Sport also claiming that United hierarchy is not completely satisfied by the Dutch manager’s methods and could possibly go for the ex-Real Madrid and Porto boss despite his recent struggles.

However, Mourinho was recently overwhelmed by the fan’s support during the champions league clash against Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge. He called it “my moment” when the adulation from Chelsea fans poured down from stands.

Later in the post-match press conference he compared the stunning support from the Blues Supporters to his return at Stamford Bridge in 2013, August when the Portuguese was vastly welcomed by the partisan crowd.

“This is my moment, because it was amazing,” Mourinho said. “The moment I came back to the club and we played the first match at home against Hull City, the way the stadium welcomed me was amazing, but not comparable with today.

“Today comes in a moment where the results are not good; it comes in a moment where you [the media] are asking for my end [sacking]. The fans read newspapers, they watch TV, they listen to pundits’, commentators’ opinions, they read blogs and it’s quite unbelievable what they tried to say today.

“They tried to say, ‘we want you here’ and probably they also want to say to all of you ‘we want him, let him work’. It’s a fantastic feeling. I don’t have another way to thank them than by giving everything I have, which I have always, which I will do always. It’s the only way to thank them for this reaction.”

Chelsea have a challenging trip this evening to Stoke in the Premier League as Mourinho will serve a stadium ban.  On the other hand, United will welcome West Brom as they look to close the gap on Manchester City and Arsenalwho are currently sitting firmly at the top of the table.
