New Brazil sensation, Richarlison who is rocking with goals at both international and club level revealed his emotional journey to the Brazil team.
Richarlison scored two goals in the friendly match against El Salvador.
Brazil forward, who is now in terrific form was about to quit football after getting rejected by numerous clubs. But his never give up attitude helped him to climb to the top in the end.
With three goals already for Everton in the Premier League, the former Fluminense and Watford player has become an instant favourite. However, he has revealed his start to the football career wasn’t smooth as it looks. Richarlison told AS,
“I haven’t got enough fingers to count the number of clubs who rejected me. I was ready to give up football. But I lifted my head, and I went to Belo Horizonte with just the money for an outward ticket for the last trial I had, with America MG. If I didn’t make it, I had no money to get home to Espiritu Santo, 600 kilometres away.”
Brazil forward also said he would have regretted if he would have given up.
“I gave my all that morning, and I passed. If I had given up after the first no, I would never have made it where I am today.”
When asked if he dreams of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid one day, the 21-year old said,
“That way you leave me in a complicated situation… They are two giants, the dream of any player. But I just got to Everton; I’m very happy. And in the end, the next step will depend a lot on what you do here. So I hope to do a lot of good things in Everton, to win something relevant and to give back the confidence of the club and the fans. This is my great motivation right now.”
Everton will face West Ham in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
