Jurgen Klopp entertaining as ever in the pre-match Press Conference before West Ham game

After two tense 1-0 victories over Leicester City and Sunderland, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will travel to the Upton park to try and make it three in a row in an early kick off on Saturday. The biggest news for the Liverpool fans has been the return of Daniel Sturridge who might feature in the game against West Ham.

Speaking about the intensity and the number of games in the Premier League, Klopp said, “I’m the first to force the players [to work] or to help them not getting fatigue in the periods between the games because first of all you get tired in the mind then the body starts thinking the same.

“It’s intensive, we cannot ignore this. It’s the most intensive time in the year after an intensive time, so we are not on holiday for sure.

“But it’s the same situation for nearly all the teams – we have two [cup] games more but that’s how it is. We wanted to go to the semi-final of the Capital One Cup and now we are in it, now we want to go to the final of course, and that’s what we have to deal with.

“It’s a situation and we have to be prepared for all these games, that’s our job. It’s not that you can just say, ‘come on, boys!’ – that’s what we say and that’s what we expect but it’s really intensive.

“You want to show everybody that you want to make the best of it.”Christian Benteke has helped the side in many ways with two winners from two games and is in good form at the moment. Speaking about his star striker, the German said, “Christian scored the decisive goal and that’s the best thing you can do as a striker but he can play even better”

“You can make your life easier in games like yesterday when you take your first opportunity (to score).

“If you don’t (take your first chance) you have to work to defend, to switch, to speed up and slow down. That’s what we did.”

It was revealed that Jurgen Klopp almost became a West Ham manager after the London franchise offered him a job at the start of the season. Klopp explained his decision to reject the club saying that it was not the right time.

Talking to reporters, “In the summer, I was not available. I’m sure I should say not too much about this,” Klopp said.

“I’m lucky I had a lot of interest, West Ham is a good club but it was the wrong time, like all the clubs who approached me.”

Speaking about the injury to club Captain Jordan Henderson who limped off after 61 minutes in the game against Sunderland, Klopp said, ““I have no update now. We have to wait a little bit because it was something with the heel but it could good for him we all hope. We have to see,” Klopp said.

“Everybody knows Hendo is a real tough guy and yesterday he tried and then we saw it’s not perfect … Now we have to wait a few hours more or a day or two and then we know more.”

Jurgen Klopp also mentioned that his player of the season so far has been Leicester City star Jamie Vardy. The German manager also replied to the comments from Sam Allardyce accusing him of being a ‘Soft German’. Klopp said that he did not care about it and that he was called worse things than that.

Liverpool have a chance to move up the points table with a victory on Saturday and will be hoping to stay strong for the second half of the season.
