Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has been offered a £16.8m mansion in the posh Malibu in Los Angeles by his new club LA Galaxy. Gerrard will be moving to the United States at the end of the season with his wife Alex Curran and three daughters Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes. Reports suggest LA Galaxy will be paying £13,440-a-week rent for the ocean-view pad during his 18-month stay.
According to Daily Star, it is a six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home, and just 15 minutes away from the seaside enclave of Santa Monica, it has sweeping mountain and Pacific Ocean views and is set in its own private orchards of citrus and avocado trees. It also features separate exercise, massage and sauna rooms plus an outdoor infinity pool, huge barbecue area and three-car garage.
LA Galaxy skipper Robbie Keane and his missus Claudine are expected to help Gerrard and his family to settle in Los Angeles.
She said: “Most weekends, especially in summer, we get together for drinks or a barbecue and we organise loads of girls’ nights out and family days.
“So Alex and the kids are never going to be lonely, even when Stevie is playing away with the team. “I’m looking forward to attending the Gerrards’ first party once they’ve settled in.”
Steven Gerrard, earlier, announced he’ll be Anfield in the summer after 25 years, 17 seasons, 695 games, scoring 180 goals and winning 10 trophies with his beloved Liverpool. The ultimate “One club man” is finally leaving his boyhood club, not for any other rival club or for oil-rig money. The former England captain will lead his team one final time against Stoke City. Gerrard is all about sheer passion and money has never been an issue for the Liverpool captain. Throughout his glorious Anfield career, Gerrard rejected a host of top clubs including the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter and Bayern Munich. After bailing out Liverpool on numerous occasions, Anfield will be miss their favourite son.
