Claudio Ranieri has taken the Premier League by a storm with the performances that his club has put forward so far this season. He sees his club sit at the top of the table with a 1 point gap over 2nd placed Manchester United, the club they will face next in the domestic League. Leicester City started the season superbly but many wrote them off to end in the 2nd half of the table at the end of the season. But reaching the top of the Premier League after 13 games is not an easy feat and the manger will hope that his side can keep up the good work and open a 4 point gap at the top.
Manchester United on the other end had a forgettable mid-week game against PSV Eindhoven where they failed to take their chances and were held to a 0-0 draw. They were lucky to get away with all three points against Watford last week but will have their work cut out when they meet Ranieri’s side. Here is the preview of the game along with the Team News, Predictions and Betting Odds.
The Leicester City vs Manchester United match will be played on Saturday, the 28th of November at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. The kick off is scheduled at 5:30 pm BST (11:00 pm IST).
Ranieri has taken his club to a new level this season and everything has gone right how he has wanted. They are in-between a six-game unbeaten streak at the moment and the manger can call upon his full squad to face the Red Devils on Saturday. Matthew James is the only long term absentee and he will not be available for the Foxes at least till the turn of the year.
Louis van Gaal on the other hand has loads of problems with injuries to his players. Rooney and Martial are back in the squad but Luke Shaw, Valencia and Michael Carrick are all missing this game due to injuries. Phil Jones is also doubtful for the game while Ander Herrera will go for a last minute scan to prove his fitness. Expect Blind to partner Smalling in the defense and for Mata, Rooney and Martial to play up front for the Red Devils.
Schmeichel; De Laet, Morgan, Huth, Schlupp; Mahrez, King, Drinkwater, Albrighton; Vardy, Okazaki
De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Rojo; Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin; Memphis, Rooney, Mata; Martial
Chris Smalling vs Jamie Vardy:
The record holder for the most consecutive goals in the Premier League, Jamie Vardy will be up against one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League in Chris Smalling. Smalling has been one of the best players for United this season as he has kept de Gea’s goal pure for most games. Vardy will try and use his pace and skill to get the better of the England International as this battle has all the makings of an intriguing one.
Anthony Martial vs Huth
Martial has been the brightest star for United in attack while most of his team mates have looked lethargic to say the least. Martial possesses great skill and pace and can get the better of most defenders in the Premier League. He will be up against Huth who has shown great composure for the Foxes at the back. Martial will put loads of pressure on the Leicester back four and if Huth and company can keep him quite, they may well have a chance to get a result out of this game.
Leicester City: 21/10
Manchester United: 7/5
Louis van Gaal has a squad that can beat the best teams in the world. But the team has not gelled well together and has not been playing the kind of football the manager wants them to. Leicester have a great chance to exploit their weaknesses and at home, will be hoping to get a result from the game.
