Recent reports suggest that Mario Balotelli has drawn interest from Italian outfit Sampdoria as the club president have come in support for the player.
Having scored only 4 goals throughout the season, the former Milan player is expected to leave Anfield this summer as the club management are considering to off load him. The news have made Italian outfit Sampdoria on red alert as they are waiting to seek his services for the next season.
Liverpool has brought in Balotelli from AC Milan for £16million as a replacement for Luiz Suarez who left for Barcelona last summer.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero said: “Balotelli at Sampdoria? Should the player come to Italy we would open our doors.
“If he came to a calm club, with wonderful fans, Balotelli would definitely get back to his best. I think he’s a wide man and not a central striker, so even if he didn’t score everyone would be happy.”
The 24-year old failed to live up to expectations and could not do any justice to his price tag or his wages at Anfield. Liverpool also happy to off-load the striker for lesser amount than they spent on him the last summer. The Reds are linked with a number of strikers this summer as they are looking for more quality up-front.
