Manchester City had suffered a massive blow, as their in-form, Kevin de Bruyne will be out of action for two months. The midfielder had injured his knee during training and is set to be out of the pitch for a couple of months.
Kevin de Bruyne is set to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
During Manchester City’s training on Wednesday, de Bruyne hurt his knee and he will get assessed in the coming days. However, according to sources, he is already on crutches, and sources close to the player believe he could be out of action for anywhere between two and three months.
So far it has been known that Kevin had injured the lateral ligament in his knee. A more accurate diagnosis is expected later this week.
Kevin de Bruyne has also suffered a massive injury back in 2016. It kept him on the sidelines for almost nine weeks. However, Manchester City will carry out tests at their training ground. They will send him to see specialist Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona. The doctor treats many of the club’s injured players.
The Belgium midfielder is at the form of his life. Manchester City became the first team in the Premier League history to achieve 100 points, and Kevin de Bruyne played a major role in his side’s success last season.
The 27-year old showed the same form with his national team too. Belgium ended up as the semi-finalist of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. And de Bruyne was one of the best players in the side who performed consistently throughout the tournament.
An injury at the moment can affect the form of Kevin de Bruyne, and Manchester City might also face huge trouble despite having David Silva and Ilkay Gündogan as replacements.
