Manchester United has had a very good transfer window so far having already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic for free, Eric Bailey from Spain and Mkhitaryan from Germany and breaking world record transfer fee for Paul Pogba.
However, newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho is keen on a complete squad overhaul and is looking to make a couple of more changes to his squad in the coming days.
Here are the transfer speculations and done deals around Manchester United today.
Spanish club Valencia are keen to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, according to the reports in Spain.
Radio Taronja says Valencia owner Peter Lim has made personal contact with Manchester United’s Ed Woodward over the transfer fee to sign the defender.
Meanwhile, this could be a great news for Arsenal as the club have increased their interest in signing Shkodran Mustafi. The arrival of Rojo to the club could pave way for Arsenal to get their top transfer target of the summer.
Spanish club Granada are in talks to sign Manchester United youngster Andreas Pereira , according to Daily Mail.
The 20-year old is close to joining the club in La Liga despite his interest to move for a Premier League club on loan. He will become the fourth Manchester United player to leave Old Trafford this week following the departures of James Wilson, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Tyler Blackett.
According to Evening Standard, Arsenal are convinced that Southampton defender Jose Fonte is set to join Manchester United and have pulled out their interest in signing him.
The 32-year old is speculated to leave Southampton in favour of Manchester United as new manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add an experienced central defender to his roster before the end of current transfer window.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes has expressed an interest in signing Phil Jones from Manchester United. The 24-year old has not featured in any of the games for Manchester United this season so far.
Jones is expected to leave Manchester United as Arsenal are also looking at the developments around the player at Old Trafford.
“As I said we’ve made enquiries,” Hughes said at his pre-match press conference. “We’ve talked about a lot of players, too many to list to be perfectly honest.
“Clearly he’s a player that has got good pedigree and is at a good club and sometimes you just enquire to see what the current thinking is on certain players.”
According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, Chelsea are leading the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.
Manchester United and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the 22-year old but Chelsea are favourites to sign the Brazilian, the report suggested.
