Mario Gotze Makes His First Instagram Post In Five Months As He Continues Recovery

German midfielder Mario Gotze had risen to the top at young age but his dramatic collapse in the recent seasons has been one of the most talking points.

Gotze had a tough time playing under Pep Guardiola as he was sparsely used by the Spanish tactician which forced him to move back to Borussia Dortmund last summer. However, the 25-year old was ready to restart his career but he had a massive let down when he was diagnosed with a rare muscle disorder named myopathy.

Myopathy causes weakness and rapid fatigue in the muscles which not only reduces the stamina in the athlete but will also have a significant impact on his recovery between the games. This muscle disorder at later stages of life is often caused due to some thyroid disease or a problem developing in the adrenal glands.

The German club had announced the news to the media back in February and have not mentioned any specific time for his recovery. The Dortmund star has put a post on Instagram that saw him jogging as he looks set to get back to training with the team for the upcoming season.

Reports in Germany suggest that Gotze could be back for their pre-season preparations under new manager Peter Bosz on July 7. Dubbed as ‘German Messi’ in the past, Gotze has earned a name for himself at a tinder age with his splendid displays at Dortmund.

This has led German giants Bayern Munich made a record move for him before the final of 2013 Champions League. However, his career did not kick off with Bayern as he was left mostly on the bench by Pep Guardiola in the important games.

He moved back to his home club again last summer but his career was put in a serious danger with myopathy as there have been doubts over his future in football. But Gotze, who had scored the world cup winning goal in 2014 final, looks set to return and we can only hope that he reaches back to his original potential.
