Egypt’s talisman, Mohamed Salah is inching closer to recovering from his shoulder injury with every passing day, as the African country earnestly awaits the good news.
The Liverpool star is in a race against time to be fit for Egypt’s World Cup campaign.
Salah was a huge doubt for the showpiece event in Russia after being forced to leave the Champions League final in tears.
He had hurt his shoulder in a clash with Sergio Ramos. Salah was grappling with Ramos, and he landed awkwardly. He got up and tried to play on but could not. It later got revealed he had a suspected dislocated shoulder.
Salah arrived in Spain last week for treatment on his damaged shoulder and had been assessed by Egyptian national team doctors.
In his latest update on social media on Sunday, Salah posted an encouraging tweet, posting a picture of himself while doing strength and conditioning session, with the caption:
“Good feelings…”

A statement released by the EFA on their official social media channels read:
“After the meeting of Abo Rida (EFA President) and the doctor of the national team in Spain today, the Football Association reaffirms that God willing, Salah’s absence at the World Cup will not exceed three weeks.”
Missing his services will be a huge blow for Egypt. Salah was in stunning form before suffering the injury, netting 44 times across a remarkable 2017-18 campaign with Liverpool.
The goal-laden season helped him bag the Premier League Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year award.
Egypt starts their campaign against Uruguay on June 15. Reports suggest Salah is likely to miss that encounter. However, he should be fit for the clash against Russia on June 19.
