Official! Barcelona Complete Gerard Deulofeu Signing

After failing to lift the league title in Spain last year, Barcelona have made a number of changes already, starting with replacing their previous manager Luis Enrique with Ernesto Valverde at the helm of the club.

The former Athletic Bilbao manager has his own style of play and needs players who fit in his system well for the next season.

He will have loads of pressure on him to perform in his first season at the Camp Nou and he will make sure that he has all the equipment needed to establish a title charge next season.

This has seen Barcelona scout for some of the finest footballers in Europe at the moment for a move this summer and one player who has completed his move to the Camp Nou is Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu.

Deulofeu signs Barcelona deal

A product of the La Masia academy in Catalonia, Deulofeu failed to have any kind of an impact on the fist team at Barcelona, as he made just two senior appearances in the La Liga before being loaned out to Everton.

The English club took him on a permanent basis but sent him out on loan after just a year to Serie A.

He was decent in his time with AC Milan but Barcelona are now looking for attacking talent that suits their style and Deulofeu could be a decent option.

The 23-year old has completed a €12m switch to Barcelona, and will now have a release clause of €20m on his new contract.

He wages are not yet disclosed but it is understood that it is just a two-year deal that he has penned today.

He reportedly completed his medical on Friday and has already completed his switch, making his eligible to play for the club from today.

Wants To Establish Himself At Camp Nou

At just 23, he has immense potential but it is hard to see him muster a place in the first team next season.

In a recent interview, he revealed that he is ready to stay and fight for his place in the first season back in Spain.

“It is my home and it was a shame I could not go back sooner,” he said.

“It is already decided. This year I will stay at Barca for sure. I am ambitious and I want to play with the best.

“I am very happy to have this opportunity that I have never had, to play in the first team of Barca,” he added.
