According to reports, Warrior Football, the kit manufacturer for Liverpool will be re-branded as New Balance in 2015/16. New Balance is the parent company of Warrior and they will now shut down their football branch. Liverpool and Warrior earlier signed a contact till 2015/16 worth $41.55 million.
The deal was the most expensive in the Premier League, more than Nike’s deal with rivals Manchester United. Warrior also manufacture kits for English club Stoke City and La Liga club Sevilla. Warrior Sports was founded in 1992 by the former Lacrosse player David Morrow, but it now appears parent company New Balance will see out the last year of the deal with Liverpool Football club.
Warrior Football is endorsed by football stars Vincent Kompany, Marouane Fellaini, Craig Bellamy, Nikica Jelavić, Kolo Toure and Tim Cahill. New Balance is the kit partner of the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League.
