Zinedine Zidane proved yet again that he is a footballing mastermind as he became the first manager to retain the Champions League with Real Madrid last season.
In less than two full seasons with the club, the French manager has helped them to two UCL titles and also the La Liga title in the previous season, helping them to one of the most productive campaigns at the Spanish capital for quite a while now.
However, he is now adamant to improve on the quality in the first team and is ready to let go of a number of star players this summer.
According to reports from Spanish news outfit Marca, Real Madrid are now close to starting their squad overhaul and are ready to sell a number of first team stars, mainly to free up space, but also to raise funds for top transfer targets this summer.

The report claims that Real Madrid are desperate to land French sensation Kylian Mbappe this summer and are ready to sell some of the star players at the club to raise the money needed to meet Mbappe’s valuation.
AS Monaco rejected Real Madrid’s €130m bid earlier this summer and it is understood that Zidane is ready to sell up to five star players to fund Mbappe’s transfer bid and to allow him to bid a more expensive figure.
Marca claims that Zidane will sell Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who is closing in on a move to Manchester United next season. He has been in decent form but is not in the plans of the manager for the next season.

Similarly, Colombian national team skipper James Rodriguez, who was left out of the squad to face Juventus in the Champions League final recently, is also expected to quit the Bernabeu. French giants PSG are reportedly leading the race for his signature.
Joining them will be the likes of Fabio Coentrao, Mariano Diaz and Diego Llorente, who are all expected to be sold on the cheap.
Portuguese star Pepe has already been released on a free and is closing in on a move to PSG.
This should raise enough amount to fund a bigger bid for Mbappe, but is it the right approach from the Spanish giants?
