Revealed: Conte Threatened To Leave Chelsea After 3-0 Arsenal Defeat

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has not had the best of starts to his career at Stamford Bridge in his early days as the team looked similar to the one that finished tenth last season.
They had a very slow start and lost to Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and then to Arsenal 3-0 at Emirates in consecutive weeks which cast lot of doubts on the manager as well as the team. The Italian threatened to quit the job at Chelsea after their loss to Arsenal, according to reports.
The Blues have managed only three wins in their first six games and were languished below the top six places. To put that in context, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all got near perfect starts to their league campaigns.
According to the Times, Conte was furious after their result at Emirates and reportedly said to his coaching staff: ‘That’s it. I am off.’
Conte had also addressed his players after the game saying: ‘You must show on the pitch you are a good team, you are not a good team just because you are at Chelsea.’
The Blues manager then changed the system that Chelsea are playing and reverted to his favorite 3-4-3 formation after their loss to Arsenal. Chelsea have since then managed to change their fortunes as they were compact at the back and were very good in their attack as they grinded out victories even in the most difficult situations over the course of the seasons.
Chelsea have dropped only 13 points out of a potential 90 points since then and have managed to clinch the Premier League title with two games to spare after their 1-0 victory against West Brom on Friday night.
‘That decision changed our season. We had to change and find a new suit for our team,’ Conte told Sky Sports after a 1-0 victory over West Brom.
‘In my mind there was this option to play a 3-4-3 because I knew I had the players to do that.’
The Blues will now turn their sights to FA Cup final against Arsenal as they are looking favorites to complete a domestic double by the end of season.
