Chelsea have managed to lift their second league title in three years under their new manager Antonio Conte but not everything has been smooth since they lifted the trophy.

Having lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup final, Conte seems determined to improve on the first team quality next season and is planning some massive investment this summer.

He is looking to bring in some of the best players from Europe to the club to help them compete in the Champions League next season but reports have now surfaced that Conte is in disagreement with the board over a few transfers this summer.

According to reports he is now in a row with the club hierarchy and is close to quitting the Stamford Bridge just a year after joining them.

The Italian mastermind has already told Diego Costa that he is not in his plans for the next season and that he is ready to sell him.

The Spaniard has been in terrific form since his move to England from Spain but Conte does not see him fit for his Chelsea side and has asked him to leave over a text message.

Though he will fetch some heavy bucks, Costa is not easy to replace and it looked like this decision might cost Conte his job.

However, the exact reason for the altercations between the manager and the Chelsea board are now out and it is over Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Everton star, who has been in sublime form in front of goal for more than a season now, is finally ready to quit the Goodison Park as Manchester United and Chelsea are his most favoured destinations.

However, he could cost close to €90 million (£78.6m) and it is now revealed that the Chelsea board are not ready to splash such cash on a player who they let go for just £28m, three years ago.

It is understood that with Everton not lowering their price and the pre-season fast approaching, time is running out for Conte to build on his squad and he is frustrated with this and wants to quit.

The report also suggests that Conte has spoken to Roman Abramovich, the owner of the London club over this situation and wants to resolve it quickly.
