Italian giants, Inter Milan are making an audacious attempt to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Fichajes report that the Italians are planning a massive £69m (€80m) move as the Chilean international have put new contract talks on hold.
New manager Frank de Boer has reportedly made the Chilean as his primary target as the club are willing to increase his wages massively to £7m-a-year in an attempt to lure him away from Emirates this summer.
The wages will mean that he would be the highest-paid player in the entire Italian Serie A. Sanchez have already had experience in the league as he has played for Udinese between 2006-2011 before moving to Barcelona.
Sanchez only has two years left on his contract at Arsenal and Wenger is keen to offer him a new deal in an attempt to tie him down amid interest from several clubs.
The former Barcelona winger has turned to be a very important player for the Gunners as he was an instant hit in Premier League since his arrival from Camp Nou.
The 27-year old has managed an impressive 42 goals in his two-year spell at Emirates Stadium but the biggest stumbling block would be that the Italian club won’t be able to offer Champions League football for the talented midfielder.
