Most recently Manchester United captain and star striker surpassed English legend Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of scoring the most number of international goals for the English national team.

England faced Switzerland last night in a Euro 2016 qualifying game where the English side emerged triumphant as Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney netted the goals.

Wayne Rooney scored from the spot and thus overtook Sir Bobby Charlton as Rooney’s tally reached 50 goals mark. 

As the current England captain creates history and scored his golden jubilee goal last night we have decided to make a compilation of all the 50 goals scored by Wayne Rooney against different opponents.

The Manchester United forward scored a maximum of five goals against San Marino and scored 4 times each against Switzerland and Croatia. Among the notable opponents against whom the striker has scored are, Brazil twice, Netherlands 1, Argentina 1 and Uruguay 1.

He made his international debut in 2003 and scored his debut goal in his sixth cap against Macedonia in which England drew 1-1. Till date, Rooney has played 107 international matches for England in 12 years.
