What Happens If Manchester United Finishes In Top Four And Win Europa League As Well

Manchester United are undoubtedly one of the most consistent teams in Premier League this season despite being outside top four this season.
The Red Devils have fought well across all competitions and have even managed to win EFL Cup earlier in the season. However, they have suffered some massive injuries in the recent weeks as they lost both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo for the reminder of the season as the duo underwent surgeries after suffering injuries against Anderlecht a couple of weeks ago.
Manchester United still have two routes to qualify for Champions League next season as they have a genuine chance to finish in top four as well as winning Europa League is the second route to get direct qualification into Champions League next season.
The Red Devils are on an incredible run in the Premier League as they are currently on a 24 game unbeaten run making them one of the most consistent teams in the league. However, there is also a decent chance that the club manages to achieve both.
If the club manages to win Europe’s second tier cup and not manage to finish in top four then England will have a great chance to have five clubs playing in Champions League next season.
However, if Manchester United fail to win Europa League then they can still qualify for Champions League if they manage to finish in top four which will be a difficult route as all the top clubs are in good form in the recent weeks.
But if the club exceeds expectations and manages to achieve both then there will only be four representatives from Premier League as Manchester United will get an automatic qualification to Champions League.
Who will represent Premier League in Europa League?
By default, the Europa League spots from Premier League are given to fifth best club in the league and the winners of EFL Cup and FA Cup.
However, if Manchester United wins Europa League and fails to finish in top four, then Premier League will have only two clubs in Europa League.
Should United finish in top four and win Europa League, then fifth club in table will have the chance to play in Europa League and the remaining two sides should be EFL Cup winners and FA Cup winners.
But with United winning EFL Cup already and with Chelsea/Arsenal winning FA Cup at the end of the season, it is more than likely that the sixth and seventh placed teams in Premier League will get the chance to play in Europa League next season.
