According to latest reports, Tottenham are ready to line up a bid for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans this summer. The 27-year old is having one of the difficult seasons in his career under new manager Louis van Gaal.
The defender got banned for six games this season after the spitting incident at Newcastle earlier this season. The player has only one year left in his contract and has attracted interest from Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Evans was once described as “The best defender in the country” has made only ten appearances for Red Devils this season. Tottenham are looking for defensive reinforcements after failing to reach Champions League yet again despite performing well in goal scoring.
The North London side have conceded 53 goals this season in Premier League and has the worst defensive record in the top 10 teams in Premier League this season. Jonny Evans will be a valuable addition to Spurs as they look for a top-4 finish next season.
