Tottenham’s coach says too early to talk about winning EPL

London, Oct 13 (IANS) Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino said it is too early to talk about his side’s chances to win the English Premier League (EPL) this football season.

The Argentine coach, in an interview with the BBC on Wednesday, expressed his confidence in the Spurs’ project, noting that his team is on the right track, but needs time, reports Efe.

“I think that we are building a very nice project and very nice team. But I think we need time, we have a young squad,” he said.

Tottenham is currently holding the second position of the EPL standings with 17 points after seven matches, and just one point behind leaders Manchester City.

Pochettino played down any talk about winning the title, although his team won 2-0 against Manchester City, which was the Citizens first defeat of the season.

“If we play with the passion that we play and we show the quality that we showed against Manchester City then all is possible, but I think it’s too early,” he added.
