Real Madrid are set for a sensational double swoop for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is keen to make some key additions to the team ahead of new season to bolster his attack. The likes of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez are linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Manchester United are tipped to be the preferred destination for both the players and according to Spanish outlet Diario Madrista, Zidane is lining up Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe as the replacements for departing duo.
Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu since long ago as the Belgian winger always had a dream to move to Spanish capital before even joining Chelsea. On the other hand, French striker Kylian Mbappe is nothing short of a sensation last season for Monaco.
The 18-year old is high on some of the biggest European clubs’ wishlist and Real Madrid are keen to make a move for the Frenchman this summer with the club admittedly interested in signing him since he was 14.
Real Madrid will need to splash a world record £100million to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea while Mbappe could also draw a similar amount to force a move from Monaco this summer. The report suggests that Real Madrid will have £264m in funds to procure their targets if Morata, Rodriguez and Mariano Diaz decides to leave the club.
However, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard had earlier admitted that he could stay at Stamford Bridge for at least one more year.
“Hopefully next year it is the same, we win the league and then I win Player of the Year,” Hazard said.
“Obviously winning the league is what we want most, and this award is just a bonus.
“We started this season well and we won the league but next year we have to work as hard as we have this season.
“We have to be ready every year at the same level to stay at the top.”
