Manchester United left full-back Luke Shaw suffered a horrible ankle injury while playing in the UEFA Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven yesterday where the Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat at Philips Stadion.

Luke Shaw was making a run down the left flank when PSV’s Mexican defender Hector Moreno pulled off a rough tackle at the English youngster. Shaw went down to the ground in great pain as it looked like he might have twisted his ankle badly.

The injury brought back the memories of certain horrific player injuries in the past. It could have been a career-threatening injury for the promising youngster.

Manchester United have confirmed that the player will undergo an operation, and Shaw also tweeted that he will “come back stronger”.
