David De Gea’s stance of not signing a contract extension with the club has left his manager Louis Van Gaal with a frustrated mind and the Dutch manager is even prepared for a life after his Spanish goal keeper.
Several reports today claim that De Gea has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid for a 6-year contract and will join them next summer.
It has left Van Gaal stunned as the manager was convinced of De Gea’s stay and was confident enough in sending the goal-keeper to a holiday in Spain.
Van Gaal was addressing the media before the Arsenal game and the manager looked less than pleased as he discussed how United will find able goal keepers to replace De Gea and he will not be worried if De Gea decided to join Real Madrid.
Van Gaal said: “We have a list of goalkeepers who can replace him because we have to be organised also.
“We want him [De Gea] to stay, so hopefully he shall sign. I don’t know if we can offer him everything Real can, because I cannot speak for Real Madrid.
“We have three parties here and most important party is always the player. We want him to sign but he has to sign, and he has to want to stay here at Manchester United.
“I don’t know why he has not made the decision. I cannot say what he is saying to me.”
