Furious Alexis Sanchez Reacts After Chile’s 1-0 Defeat To Argentina
You’ve got to feel a bit of sympathy for Alexis Sanchez right now. Despite his very best efforts, the Arsenal star can’t seem to buy a win for club or country.
The Gunners are going through a miserable spell domestically and even though Sanchez picked up a nasty injury in their last game against West Brom, he was still eager to join up with his international teammates in South America.
The 28-year-old has frequently cut a frustrated in recent weeks in the Premier League as Arsene Wenger’s men have toiled into a bad spell of form and his luck hasn’t got much better since linking up with Chile either.
Chile’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup hit a bump last night after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Argentina.
A Lionel Messi penalty was the only difference between the two South American heavyweights and lifted Argentina up into an automatic qualifying spot while Chile have dropped to sixth in the standings.
On a poor River Plate pitch, there weren’t too many chances to score, however, Sanchez almost brought the Copa America champions back level when he curled a beautiful kick onto the bar.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t to be and Chile face an uphill task to reach Russia in 2018.
The magnitude of the challenge appeared to hit Sanchez almost immediately after the final whistle last night.
He was unable to contain his emotions and threw a passionate tantrum – not too dissimilar to some of his frustrated acts at Arsenal this season.
Sanchez tried ripping his shirt off his own body before kicking the ground in disgust – watch the video below.

Chile will be back in action in front of their own fans when they take on Venezuela on Tuesday.
The race to qualify for Russia is far from over for Sanchez and co. as just two points separate second-placed Uruguay and Chile in sixth.
