Wayne Rooneyhas suffered a horrific 2015 as the Manchester United skipper has been almost half the player he was last season. He has been in center of the recent controversy surrounding Louis Van Gaal’s current situation at Old Trafford. Accoridng to recent reports, Van Gaal has 3 games to save his job and he would need the support from his players.

Speaking of support, Rooney has recently come out stating his full support for his manager. He claimed that, the players need to take full responsibility for the recent slump in form for Red Devils and they will look to do everything in their powers to get all 3 points against Stoke this weekend.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Rooney said: “You have a lot of people talking about things that they believe are happening. But, in reality, the people who are writing that stuff don’t really know anything.

“We are working hard and fighting for the manager to try to get results and turn the season around.

“The last few weeks the results haven’t been great for us and it’s frustrating and as a player it’s hard to deal with. We have to be strong and get through it and get the results we need.

“It’s normal that confidence is a bit lower and we need to try to lift it as we’ve got some tough games coming up and we need to be at our best.

“As a group of players we know can do better and we regularly have meetings with the players, myself and the other senior players in the squad, and the manager as well. We are all working together to find the best solution to try to win football matches.”

It is about time, Van Gaal gets his tactics and philosophy right on the pitch and starts to get results which has been letting him and the club down. United are now without a win in 6 games and will need to put points on teh table if they want to compete with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Leicester and Tottenham.
