Arsenal believed to be in danger of losing their prized asset Hector Bellerin to Manchester City as the Spaniard has great admiration for Pep Guardiola.
The prolific right-back has so far attracted the interest of the Citizens, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and PSG according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo Manchester City can lure him to Etihad using Guardiola as bait.
Although the Spaniard has never worked with Guardiola, it’s their shared experience at La Masia which gives the Sky Blues the best opportunity of signing the defender.
Guardiola has already made an offer and is the highest bidder at the moment. Bellerin, 21, has established himself as one of the best right’backs in the Premier League and would command a huge fee. The ex-Barcelona chief is keen on La Masia graduate Bellerin as he believed he will be able to adapt to his style.
However, the Gunners are in no position to welcome any kind of deal for Bellerin, and it could take a bid of a staggering £43 million to hijack him from the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Bellerin’s agent, Albert Botines, is expected to fly into London to listen to the offers on the table, even though the player himself has said that he is perfectly happy at Arsenal.
Amid rumours linking him to Barcelona, the right-back recently said, “I renewed last year and have many years left. I am very happy. In football, you can always spend a lot, but I’m in the Arsenal, giving everything for the club.
“I do not think about going anywhere.”
This will be good news for Gooners, who have seen a host of players leave for the Nou Camp over the last ten years.
