Indian men’s junior hockey team lost to Holland by 1-2 in their fourth match of group stage at the Volvo International tournament held at Breda, Holland previous night. It was an excellent effort by the Indian team but Holland were the better team on the day.

In the first half Netherlands began well in first 10 minutes earning a couple of penalty corners which was well saved by the Indian defence. In the 18th minute the Dutch team was awarded a penalty stroke which was converted by Van Grosen to give Holland a 1-0 lead. After that Indian team attacked but the Holland defence was up to the mark and never let India score a goal. At the half time, Holland led by 1-0.

In the second half, India attacked the Holland but was not able to convert the chances into the goal. In the 57th minute Holland attacked and Van Grosen scored a field goal to give the hosts 2-0. India forward Arman converted a field goal in the 59th minute to reduce the margin to 1-2. The Indian team attacked with more aggression with that goal and tried to level the score but things just did not go their way. The Holland team won the match 2-1. The Indian goalkeeper was brilliant in the goalpost.
