HIL – Dabang Mumbai register their first win of HIL against Kalinga Lancers

Dabang Mumbai registered their first win of Hockey India League by beating Kalinga Lancers at the Mahindra Stadium at Mumbai today. It was an exciting match by both teams. Kalinga Lancers missed so many chances in the match.

In the 1st quarter of the match, Kalinga Lancers began off to good start but were not able to convert chances. Mumbai also did well but they too missed chances. It was an attacking hockey by both of the teams. At the end of the first quarter it was 0-0.

The 2nd quarter, began off to a good start for Mumbai when they earned penalty corner in the 3rd minute. The striker hit a shot from the rebound and gave Mumbai a 1-0 lead. After that Kalinga Lancers tried many goals but were unsuccessful. In the 11th minute Kalinga Lancers missed 3 penalty corners in a row. Again in the 12th minute Kalinga Lancers missed a chance. At the end of 2nd quarter it was 1-0 in favor of Mumbai.

The 3rd quarter, began off to good start for Kalinga Lancers but again they missed a chance. In the 3rd minute, Kalinga Lancers earned a penalty corner but was went off the post. In 5.30 minute Kalinga Lancer missed a chance again. In the 7th minute, Mumbai earned a penalty corner but was well saved by Kalinga Lancer keeper. In 7.29 Kalinga Lancers again earned a penalty corner but again missed.

In 11th minute, Kalinga Lancers missed a golden chance to level the score. In the 12th minute, Mumbai earned a penalty corner and Harmanpreet converted the goal to give Mumbai a 2-0 lead. After that Kalinga Lancers converted a brilliant field goal by Aamir Khan to reduce the gap to 2-1. At the end of 3rd quarter, it was 2-1 in favor of Mumbai.

In the 4th quarter, Kalinga Lancers earned another penalty corner in the 7th minute but missed the chance again. In the 9th minute, Kalinga Lancers missed a chance again. Mumbai also tried to score goals but Kalinga Lancers was up to the task.

With this win Mumbai has jumped to fifth. Kalinga Lancers dominated the game but were not able to convert chances into goals.
