After winning 2 medals in shooting on day 1, the Indian shooters led by World no. 1 Jitu Rai won another Bronze Medal, this time in men’s 0 M Air Pistol team event.

The Indian trio of Jitu Rai, Samaresh Jung and Prakash Nanjappa shot a total of 1743.64 (Jitu 585, Jung 580 and Nanjappa 578) in the finals. The gold went to the hosts South Korea comprising Kim Cheongyong, Jin Jongoh and Lee Daemyung with a total score of 1744.71. The Chinese team of Pang Wei, Pu Qifeng and Wang Zhiwei got the silver with a total score of 1743.65.


Both India and China were tied on 1743 points but the latter clinched the silver on account of an extra x. The Chinese team had 65x while Indians had 64x. 

Jitu Rai also won a gold medal on day 1 of the Asian Games 2014 in the 50m pistol event.
